Google MapsI order able foods for my intellectually disabled brother in law. The food arrives at his doorstep on the day they say. After trying other companies I highly recommend able foods.

Google MapsMicroscopic sized meals. You would feed a child more. The largest portion of most types of their meals is mostly beans and potatoes and two small thin slices of meat. I actually feed my dog 3 times the amount they expect me to survive on. I’ve had other far better prepared meals from other companies, in my experience Able Foods has been the worst. Sure their workers seem to be friendly and caring, but their meals do need to improve. The meals comprised of mince meat is like all the scraps of meat has been minced. It has no meaty flavour or texture, instead is loaded with gristle, veins and fatty cut offs minced up. (See my photo of what is supposed to be “minced beef”) It truly made me feel sick trying to chew it. When filling out a feedback form to complain there is no drop down option to leave a complaint which leads me to think they don’t care to learn anything from their customers to improve themselves, or they think no one could possibly have anything to complain about. When I complained to them they responded like it was just a one off bad batch, but all their mince dishes have been the same and obviously not made with prime mince meat. I have since left and will be trying a new meal provider.

Google MapsExcellent service response. Thank you especially to Ky, he went the extra mile in helping me reinstate my meal funding, all within the same afternoon. Looking forward to trying some new, vegetarian meals and past favourites. Great to experience such a human response instead of a robotic one, especially when lots of personal barriers making small things hard. Thank you very much to able foods!

Google MapsThe frozen meals do not defrost well. They are very watery, really turned me off eating the food. Threw away more than was consumed. Staff not really interested in improving quality, they just told me to go back to lite n easy which I definitely will do. The quality of lite n easy compared to able foods is far superior.

Google MapsThe main problem I have with Able Foods is their delivery service, HDS Delivery. I care for an NDIS participant who receives Able Foods and multiple times we've had problems with our deliveries not showing up at all, to the wrong address or hours later than the stated delivery time. Frequently the deliveries are left in the weather and on the street and there is no way to get in touch with the courier or the courier company. Considering Able Foods is an NDIS provider, it's pretty alarming they are happy to use such a poor, inaccessible courier service. Not only that, we had problems even just getting the orders delivered to our house as we are located 6km outside a suburb they list as a delivery area. When I enquired with Able Foods to see if they would be able to deliver to us, they said they were unable to even though we were so close to their delivery suburb, which has meant the NDIS participant I care for has had to get their deliveries at another address and pick them up each week. The food itself and the variety has been okay - if you actually receive your order, that is.
