Customer service is great and the quality and range of meals excellent. Very affordable as I'm on a Support at Home package. Very happy to switch from another well known meal provider. Able Foods are real and tasty. Highly recommend.

Google MapsI manage the Able foods account for a disabled relative in an aged care complex. Have been sitting on this issue for some months, hoping things might improve, after a number of reported issues. Takes a bit for me to write a bad review. Yesterday afternoon evening, first got a delivery delayed message, then a normal "nearly there" message and then at 6.30pm a delivered message, but no, it wasn't.(!) Today they tell me the driver was running late and returned to warehouse without delivering. Fantastic system, sending a delivered message at 6.30pm, so we have elderly people out searching gardens and doorways for a box that doesnt exist. 3/4 of the delivery team it appears, are next to useless. Delivery drivers that either can't or won't read a map, definitely don't read instructions, can't look at a pin on a google maps image, and leave a box in the middle of a garden metres from a doorway, (seriously) or infront of a locked fire exit on an unoccuppied building (with no visible door handles or locks for entry) rather than at a manned reception door. Time and time again, delivered incorrectly. Left one in full western sun in summer, that could have been put in the shade only 2m away. Difficulties happened at a previous address too, that was even simpler, with 4 possible building entries, was correct fewer than one in 4 times! (second entry on the left side). Once was left next to the letter box and recycling bins. So we are looking for recommendations.....

Google Maps✔️ Deliveries have improved ten fold noting the instructions provided have helped significantly, also the delivery updates received via text with links to photos taken of the unit address and pics of placement of the box at it's location has provided great reassurance for myself and the person I care for - who the food is intended for. ⏰ TBH I would not normally have made a fuss and I wouldnt make too much noise when I saw problems, but a sarcastic beast was awoken when I saw reoccurring issues that impacted the person who I care for, as I felt that I needed to be heard and there needed to be change... (Insert clause, no I don't work for any caring organisation and what I have written is from my own first hand experiences, frustrations and short wins)... Yes, it did take a bit in ironing out some of those minor wrinkles and kinks in getting the delivery address correct esp after many wrong deliveries and even strong thoughts of finding another provider... But what I realised was that the more information I provided, including supplying several language translations of the address - which mind you was 'gently' frowned upon by Able foods, it was the visuals that were the key for the delivery service to decipher the correct address in getting it right... Supplying a map from Google maps, circling the address helped expedentially... Since April 2025, when I wrote to Able foods supplying constructive feedback, we have had only one miss hap since then - in Nov 2025 with one delivery going astray to a wrong address and food spoiling due to the sun ... ☝🏽But despite that one delivery, I can honestly say it has been a year and deliveries have been on point, the service is so much better, drivers even thinking 💡outside the box - in one instance when it came to weather conditions ⛈️ the driver covered the box when it was pouring with rain... Now our next goal is working on what the pesky instructions on the side of the box means - 'this way up' ?? and what do those directional arrows🔝 actually mean??? ...But small steps... the food is so well packed and packaged, that noting the way the boxes have ended up - the food was not mashed or damaged. The service and effort has come a long way and we are appreciative of that. After speaking to able foods through a phone call survey, it was advised to write a review and to be up front which is commendable too. I hope this is more helpful than being a hindrance... The quality of the food is top notch and the variety of the wide dish selections is outstanding.
I'm on the NDIS and I have been using Able Foods as my meal provider since 2021 (they were called 'Kinela' back then). I can't recommend them highly enough. The customer service is excellent and on the rare occasion where I had an issue with a meal, it was rectified straight away. Getting quotes for new NDIS plans was quick, easy and very straight forward. I feel good knowing that all of their main meals have at least 1.5 servings of vegetables and all of their other food is vetted by a professional dietician. When I changed from plan managed to self managed, Able Foods were very accomodating and were happy to send invoices, instead of making me pay up front like other meal providers. Able Foods is also more affordable and they have a larger menu than other meal providers, including options for those with swallowing or chewing issues. I recommend them to anyone and everyone, so if you or your loved ones are looking for a reliable, healthy meal provider who understands the NDIS and Aged Care systems, and offers more than just a bain-marie/food court menu, Able Foods is the meal provider for you.
I've been receiving Able Foods/Kinela dinner meals (just dinner meals) for the past four years. Overall, i am totally happy with my experience. I can select from a variety of dinner meals. Able Foods/Kinela always have on offer: Pub Style Classic meals Homestyle Favourites Asian Italian, or International and they always change some of the available menu to suit the weather season, like they have now from Summer to Autumn. I mostly order from The Homestyle Favourites bcos it reminds me of the good quality, healthy & nutritional food i was brought up on as a kid (meat & five vegetables) but i do also order from some of the other range when i feel like something different. I cannot stress the importance of eating healthy nutrional food & Able Foods/Kinela provide them. Eating healthy nutritional food is important not only for our bodies but for our mental health bcos good nutritional food gets into our bloodstream, then into the brain & overall, all of our body's cells are generally in a lot better condition, putting us all in a good mood the next day & for days, instead of eating crap unhealthy food which tastes good at the time but makes us feel like crap the next day & days after & that then puts us in bad moods. Estimated delivery time is given to me via a text msg & is updated throughout the day & is usually delivered within five minutes of the updated delivery time. I have just read some of the reviews left by some ppl for Able Foods/Kinela. Some were negative reviews that i think aren't justified. Like, one person complained that the food when eaten is watery. That happens with any friozen dinner food whether you buy it from Able Foods/Kinela, Lite n Easy or the supermarkets. They're frozen when we recieve them & they freeze when we store them in our freezer. Ice crystals then form on the ingredients & the inner cells of the food when in the freezer, which then causes them to get watery as the ice crystals melt when heating them. So that my dinner meal are not watery when i eat them, i just open the lid slightly in the corner & drain out the water in the sink. Easy as! Tasty & nutritional meal! :-) Another person complained about portion size. I'm a male & i find the portion sizes for the dinner meals appropriate. The size portions are appropriate for the nutritional value of each ingredient. It balances out the meal. If i'm hungry after my Able Foods/Kinela meal, i just eat a dessert of fruit (which i don't order from Able Foods/Kinela). Regarding the two above complaints, you would have the same issues with LIte n Easy. You would actually be hungry after each meal if you tried to lose weight by choosing a low calorie plan. Their porrtion sizes are smaller - according to a freind of mine who gets Lite n Easy - & you're hungry all of the time. I don't understand some of the negative reviews really. I believe some people don't realise a good thing when they have got it, especially when you consider the price of what we are paying for our meals compared to where you could get them elsewhere , along with the good nutritional value of each meal. I love Able Foods/Kinela meals. I highkly recommend them.
