I want to say a very big thank you to Peter from Beds for Backs Yarraville for his amazing support and help. My father was coming out of hospital requiring help with the height of my parents bed which we purchased from Peter 5 years ago and as dad is not mobile any more and we needed the bed higher to allow the Sarah Stead to help lift dad off and on the bed to wheelchair etc. Peter came to our rescue and made sure to replace the bed feet with new higher feet on the bed. Thank you Peter for your professional and friendly support and help. My mum 88 yrs and dad 91 yrs are very grateful and can’t thank you enough, you made dads coming home from hospital easy. Peter I would recommend you and your store to everyone as your after sale service even after such a long time is fantastic.

I am having 03 disc bulges in my lower (lumbar) spine and since a long time I have been looking for a mattress which is suitable for me. Peter has an excellent knowledge of back pains and spinal alignment. He carefully listened to my explanation about my lumbar spine disc bulges and explained how the mattress can support my spine. He displayed great knowledge and patience in answering all questions which I had related to the mattress which he recommended to me. Two days I visited his store at Yarraville and spent a few hours testing the mattress. During the testing period, he adjusted the inserts, and the supportive underneath slats many times until the mattress aligned exactly with my hips, lumbar curve, and the shoulders. Peter delivered the mattress to my house, unpacked it, put it on my bed and did the same adjustments to suit my body as explained above. A few weeks ago, I bought a mattress from another department store, and their third-party delivery team simply dropped the mattress just inside my front door and left. As far as I know, almost all other retail stores who sell mattresses do the same thing, but they do not go that extra mile to unpack the mattress and put it on the bed. The mattress I bought has the facility to change the feel of the top layer from plush to firm. Most of the other mattresses in the market do not have this feature. Which means that, for example, if you buy a mattress with soft or medium feel top layer and subsequently if it does not agree with your body, you will have to buy another mattress as the supplier will not accept return of the already sold mattress. The good thing about the mattress I bought from Peter is that it is possible to open the top cover of the mattress and change the top layer of the mattress at any time. I initially selected the plush latex top layer, however later I realized that the firm top layer is better for my back. And Peter took back the plush layer and delivered and installed the firm layer free of charge. Also, the other most important feature of the mattress is that it can be opened from the bottom area where the coils are, and you can insert vertical foam sheets to adjust the mattress to the shape of your hips and lumbar curve. It has a seperate shoulder zone as well. It also includes additional wooden slats (with two height adjustments) which can be placed under the mattress for additional height adjustments. All these features together help you customize the mattress to your individual requirement without having to take the trouble to exchange or return it. I highly recommend Peter for his helpful attitude, kindness and his excellent knowledge of mattress requirement of people like myself who have spinal injuries/back pains.

After trying every other type of bed in the known universe and my bad back getting worse every year I finally went to Peter at Beds for Backs Yarraville and got an ergonomic bed frame with a latex mattress. My back problems have resolved and I'm sleeping better. The worst bit is that now every other bed feels bad in comparison! Keep in mind that it wasn't an instant fix - this type of bed frame was a big change and it took me quite a few weeks to get used to it, but it was worthwhile to persevere and Peter helped with making adjustments until it was right.

Big shout out to Peter from Beds and Backs in Yarraville. He assisted my husband and I with choosing the perfect bed for us. The demonstration of how the inserts work and actually fit to our body, to the pillow that suited our neck/back issues and the matress protecter that all will save us money (and aches and pains long term) second to none!
