My 5 nights at HFL was a life changing experience. It has been the only time in my whole life I've been able to feel my feelings in a safe space, free from judgement, with people who "got it". The connections I made with the other guests were unforgettable & I hope will last a lifetime. The counsellors were so supportive, understanding & loving. I highly recommend anyone who has childhood trauma to give it a go. You deserve it.
WARNING ...Check on previous serious complaints about incidents that have happened in the past! Previously called Mayumari. Liz Mullinar is not professionally trained and chooses volunteer "peer workers" only, some who are still healing. It started off ok but in time I realised I was NOT in a safe place. Firstly I tripped over and hurt my knees in a poorly-lit area, leaving them bleeding, due to unfamiliar surroundings and not enough outdoor lighting. I told a peer worker and no incident report was made. Under-staffing and lack of supervision and training meant participants were "left to their own devices" and used a lot of the old crockery to smash to release anger! No processing 🤯 Then a serious incident happened between two participants where one beat up a weaker one to a pulp all through the main building. The victim was thrown through a glass door. Myself and others were pushed around by this violent raging bull. I grew up in such an environment and was traumatised. Only one peer support worker there to deal with it. No ambulance nor police called! Both asked to leave! Everybody shaken up and traumatised. Liz Mullinar provided no support and there wasn't any psychologically trained people on the property! Total negligence! Traumatising participants who were vulnerable and already traumatised and expected to pay for the service, bring your own food, cook and clean and endure the filthy rooms choked in dirt and dust is a joke. There was no follow up calls to check on participants. Don't waste your money. This woman has no scruples.
I arrived home from my Heal For Life Foundation retreat on Friday night. I’ve been trying to put my experience into words since then. I stumbled upon this amazing organisation when looking for groups for adult survivors of CSA. My retreat began on Sunday afternoon. The property is in Hunter Valley and it is magical. Absolutely magical. A psychologist or similar is the facilitator then there are four peer support mentors (who also have extensive training) and 7 participants. I have made new friends, learned new skills to help me navigate my way in life as a survivor and also developed new boundaries to protect myself in the ongoing social media issues. The workshops were amazing. I’m not a crier but spent the last couple of days either crying or laughing! It was incredibly powerful. Now that I have attended the retreat I have the opportunity to attend training days and zooms and family days and can attend the property for breaks or to write my book. Once you have completed a retreat, the land belongs to you too! I wish I wish I could explain more but I just have no words. It truly was incredible. I feel now I am able to put boundaries in place effectively and protect myself in everything I do. THANK YOU - TJ

Google MapsI feel so grateful to have been fortunate enough to experience an adult healing week at Heal For Life. The location is superbly immersed in nature. You get the opportunity to unplug and escape the responsibilities of everyday life. The staff and volunteers are incredibly welcoming and supportive, I truly felt safe and heard. The program and content is well structured and delivered to allow you to look inwards and listen to your body and the messages it is trying to send. You have the opportunity to process past trauma and negative experiences in a safe and supported manner. They also teach you the skills to continue doing this once you leave and return home. I had a truly profound experience and understand how my trauma had continued to negatively show up in my life as an adult and parent. I feel empowered to break the cycle of abuse and trauma that has plagued my family. I feel hopeful that my girls will have a brighter future and I trust that I have the skills to continue healing myself. Forgiveness is a great place to be. I can’t recommend this experience enough. If you are considering attending, I urge to you to give it a go. You will be surprised at how life changing it can be. Kate xox

Google MapsI wish there was 6 stars and more. Heal for life is exactly that.. .healing for you life. This is THE best program I have ever experienced. I cannot rate it highly enough. The science, the care, structure is top notch. I have worked in the field of psychology for 40 years, for my personal and professional needs. Nothing has been so encompassing. I only wish I'd known about this the day Liz and team set it up. I have referred most of my executive clients, friends and participants, I've linked it to resilience, self-coaching and self-leadership. I came away with a brilliant process which has accelerated my healing, in fact nothing else has had an impact. My family, my friends and my work connections are thrilled for me as they are for themselves. Liz, Nic and the team are exceptional humans. Everything they do is based on neuroscience so with this knowledge, the activities, the structure, the teachings and care, I can say I finally have a tangible key to Heal my life - I have already healed it more in a month that 40 years. I strongly recommend calling Nic and team. THE BEST THING I have ever attended and as an Executive Coach, a Leadership Facilitator basing all my workshops in with Positive Psychology that is saying a lot. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I will now be including these life skills in my programs in the Corporate World and sharing it with anyone who will listen. Bless you all!
