She had Covid and was successfully managed through it without incident.. good team. Thank you.

Google MapsSo disappointed in this home. We admitted our elderly parents to the home in Oberon in July of 2015. Had we known how incompetent the running of the home was to be we would have made alternative arrangements. Communication is abysmal, the staff appear to be overworked, there is a high turnover of staff and the food is mediocre at best. The facility itself is lovely it just needs a staff management overhaul to make it into the wonderful home we thought it would be.

Google MapsA neighbour and good friend of mine spent the final weeks of his life in Strathdale. Today a small group of friends thanked the staff for their warm-hearted care during our friend's difficult final journey. It is on account of the efforts and kind care of the nurses and carers that I am giving Strathdale 5 stars. This positive sentiment and appreciation towards staff was shared by my friend. This is not to say that everything goes perfectly during palliative care, which in this instance also required liaison with staff from a nearby hospital. Friends and family felt that the hospital staff did not communicate well, while Strathdale staff did their best to improve pain management when the patient's condition changed. This did require active involvement from family and friends - perhaps not a fault of the "system", but what is required at that stage in life, especially where the patient is reluctant to ask for help that is actually available. Food is an entire topic by itself. Our friend was not too happy with his dinners, while seeming more satisfied with breakfast and lunch. He appreciated staff's willingness to re-heat meals on occasion where he either was not hungry at set meal times or when he had visitors. The loss of an in-room fridge when he had to move to a shared room was a significant loss of amenity for our friend. One benefit of our friend getting a place in Strathdale was that it is located close to where he used to live. This allowed friends to visit who otherwise might find it difficult to travel across town. While you get what you pay for, I am happy to write that as far as staff care and compassion for their patients is concerned, my experience with Strathdale has been a very positive one.

Google MapsI would just like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Columbia aged care at strathdale the service and wonderful assistance my mother and I received is amazing they are all so caring and very professional and my mother is in great care and it puts my mind at ease knowing she is in good hands I would thoroughly recommend Columbia aged care at Strathdale to anyone as they are very professional every step of the way thank you to all the staff
