Every time I have been to Monash Medical Emergency, I have experienced excellent care. All of the staff from the triage desk to the emergency nurses and doctors have treated me with respect, consideration, care and genuine action to get to the bottom of what was happening to me. While a lot of regular medical practices can take weeks to take, process and get results for tests they did them within hours (which while I know is the point of an emergency department it doesn't change the fact that it's a marvel we have access to it). They have always discharged me with useful advice. I feel safe and confident being treated by them and I can't recommend Monash Medical highly enough.
The mental health team here are so good :) All of you. Kind, skilled and empathetic. The hub is professional and the staff are empathetic and listen. My only concern is that the hub isn't staffed by predominently mental health trained clinicians, so some of the nurses were a little dismissive around discharge time as of course they were concerned about bed availibility. Ideally everyone who works in the hub should have some mental health knowledge - but the kindness and high levels of skill of most staff was wonderful. Gary the peer worker was also brilliant.
After being shacked and heavy sedated with morphine and ketamine in the icu at Dandenong hospital for an issue with my brain, clayton was a great breath of fresh air. I am sooo happy I asked to be transferred there. The only thing I had an issue was because I got there so late I was unfortunately shacked with 3 men doing it. It scared me alot. But with my brain working again I could comprehend what was happening now.
This was honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I called Monash Health Dental Services in Dandenong to make an appointment for my 4-year-old child. After waiting on the phone for more than an hour, someone finally answered, but instead of speaking respectfully, the staff member was rude, aggressive, shouting, and speaking in a very harsh and disrespectful manner from the beginning. Despite this, an appointment was finally booked for today, and on Friday I even received an official reminder message confirming the appointment time and location. Today, I left my work and organised everything to take my young child to the appointment. Then suddenly another staff member called and, again with extreme rudeness and aggression, told me the dentist was not available and my child could not be seen. What shocked me most was that no proper solution was offered. Instead, I was told to call again in the coming weeks to try to make another appointment myself. This means I will most likely have to go through the same process again, spend another hour waiting on the phone, and possibly deal with the same rude behaviour again. This level of disrespect towards patients and parents is completely unacceptable, especially in a healthcare service for children. Families should not be treated with shouting, aggression, and complete disregard for their time, stress, and responsibilities. I am extremely disappointed with both the behaviour of the staff and the way appointments are managed at this clinic. Management seriously needs to improve the professionalism, communication, and treatment of patients.
Pam Nelson took care of my 12-year-old son during our hospital visit, and she was excellent from start to finish. She was calm, patient, and really reassuring, which made a big difference because my son was quite nervous. She handled the blood test very professionally and smoothly—it was quick, and my son said it was much easier than he expected. You can tell she’s experienced and genuinely cares about what she does. Really appreciate the way she treated both my son and us as parents. Thank you, Pam.
