My experience with this landlord was extremely disappointing and raised several serious concerns that future tenants should be aware of. During my tenancy, I discovered that a doorway inside my premises — which appeared permanently sealed — in fact opened directly into the landlord’s adjoining office. I have video evidence of this. This raised obvious concerns about privacy and access that were never disclosed to me when taking the lease. I also have SMS confirmation that the landlord accessed the premises before the agreed surrender time on the final day, and signage that I paid for was removed without notice while the lease was still active. These actions caused significant disruption and added to an already stressful situation. Communication throughout the tenancy was inconsistent, and several decisions by the landlord were made without proper notice, which made running my business extremely difficult. After investing a considerable amount into fit-out, stock, rent, and operations, the overall handling of the tenancy left me feeling unsupported and treated unfairly. While my lease has now been surrendered, I strongly recommend that any future tenant: • obtains everything in writing, • inspects the premises carefully for any undisclosed access points, and • ensures clear boundaries around access and signage during the tenancy. This has been a very distressing experience and I cannot recommend the management based on what I went through.
