Google MapsI first encountered Tautua Support Services when they were moving a fellow disabled lady from the SDA house I was living in into another SDA property under their care. What struck me as so unusual was the fact that most of their entire management team came to move her. I was curious as to why a company would do such a thing. In my research, I discovered an up and coming company that is dedicated to service. I discovered that is what “Tautua” actually means in Samoan, it’s the Islander way. I realised that is what was I needed in my care 24/7 as the provider I had at the time wasn’t providing that for me. Circumstances had me forced out of the SDA that I was living in and I chose Tautua as my SIL Provider and they provided me with my new home where I’m really happy and feel very safe. We’ve had a couple of teething problems, but that’s to be expected when you start with someone new. I have a dedicated crew of Support Workers who I rely on to keep me safe and to help me when my seizures become “extreme”. Tautua have been providing really great services for young children, young adults and now full adults with Support for a few years. Tautua Support Services are open to learning about their clients needs, both disabilities and medical. That makes them a cut above the rest. The fact that they also provide so many different types of activities for their clients and are willing to discover more is amazing. They also provide their clients with a Barber service, which to say is mind boggling. They also have Kokolani’s Cafe in Hillcrest which serves the most delicious Islander food you could ever have. I can’t tell you how Blessed I am to have finally felt such peace and safety being cared for by Edy, Renee, Leone and all the Staff at Tautua Support Services. Thank you so much guys for taking me on, Fiona Elizabeth de Souza.
