Very disappointed with how this childcare centre handled a serious head injury involving my child. There are major concerns around child safety, incident management, and transparency. My child suffered a significant head injury with visible swelling, yet no photos were taken, no proper documentation was provided to us, and there appeared to be very limited understanding from staff regarding the seriousness of head injuries. Despite repeatedly raising concerns, we received no empathy or meaningful communication throughout the process. We were later told the matter was “closed” without any real feedback sought from us as the victim’s parents. I was also shocked to learn there is no CCTV coverage in the outdoor play area. In a childcare environment where safety and accountability are critical, this is extremely concerning. The investigation outcome minimized the injury as only a “slight bruise,” which did not reflect what we personally witnessed when collecting our child. Important information was also never communicated to us at the time of the incident, despite us repeatedly asking questions. Thankfully our son recovered, but the overall handling of this situation left us feeling unheard, distressed, and without confidence in the centre’s safety and reporting procedures.
