If you want to hire them for mould remediation ask them if they have: IICRC Certifications (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification): AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician): Specialises in mould and microbial remediation, focusing on assessment, containment, and removal. IICRC S520 Standard: The global benchmark for mould remediation, outlining procedures for safe and effective remediation. Secondly, they did not work under "challenging circumstances" as they've replied. They came in, there was mould infestation that they quoted and agreed to treat and remediate and that was it. They misquoted as the office manager who came out underestimated the time it would take to remediate and clean items. The new remediation company that has since been hired XSporWa who are accredited and professional is having to re-clean everything Trauma Clean touched as they actually cleaned items inside the infected room near the mould contamination, so just re-contaminated them. The photographs attached are what they supplied to give us an inventory of items of which they disposed of during to mould infection. There was no itemised list, just these blurry photos and pictures of boxes. When asked to supply a full inventory as promised since they said they took over 200 photos, they said that's they all they had. So, how do we know what to replace or the value of items lost in order to make a claim? Completely unhelpful and definitely not compassionate. Again, this would be a failing of their inexperience in mould remediation or in the trades they sent out. ORIGINAL REVIEW December 2025 I can’t comment on Trauma Clean’s other services, but do not use them for mould remediation. They are not accredited mould remediators, and their work significantly worsened the situation. After their attendance, a room that had previously tested at a lower level was confirmed by an independent hygienist to be Level 3 mould contamination, meaning the contamination increased after their work. The office manager attended to quote and relied on visual inspection only, deciding that items and areas were “not contaminated” if mould could not be seen. This demonstrates a fundamental lack of understanding of mould remediation, as mould spores are microscopic and cannot be assessed visually. Because they are not properly qualified, they did not follow correct remediation protocols, including appropriate containment and negative pressure. As a result, we now have concerns about cross-contamination and are undertaking further testing of the home. They also failed to keep proper disposal records. Items were removed without a clear inventory, and only blurry photographs were provided, making it difficult to identify what was taken and destroyed. Based on our experience, Trauma Clean should not be engaged for mould remediation work.
