Almost a one stop shop for ABI sufferers. Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff here. Lots of help available in all the areas that are required for you to make the absolute very best of a really lousy deal. Unique knowledge is available from Scott Painter, who is the resident Exercise Physiologist. Scott is always happy to offer advice in all areas of rehabilitation and can really help you to understand exactly what you may be doing right, or wrong, or possibly what it is that you are missing. We have been with this organisation for a long time now and been very well taken care of. It is extremely rare that I leave a review for anyone at all, but there are a number of very good reasons that Headway have our praise and loyalty, hence this review.

Scott Painter is an outstanding rehabilitation practitioner. He has helped our daughter Anita (33) (who has a rare debilitating condition and is quadriplegic). He has specialised walking assistance equipment that is not available elsewhere. Scott has had to suffer medical hardship himself - he is fully recovered and probably as a result of this experience is able to come from a perspective that understands what it is like to be compromised. Scott has an empathetic , friendly and supportive manner. He has a great sense of humour and wonderful engagement with his clients. He also highly academically qualified but practical at the same time. Apart from being Anita’s father I am in remission from bone cancer. After breaking my femur as a result of this condition Scott helped me recover during my rehabilitation. A great guy with empathy and a huge skill set. We are very grateful to Scott for his help. Head way Tasmania help me when I had my brain injury back in 2008 .Without the help from them having workers come and look after me while my wife went and done what people take for granted like doing the shopping taking kids to activities or just some time away from me without worrying about me. We would not still be married today were some companies only worry about the person who had the accident they made sure wife and kids wellbeing was taken care of to .

Great service staffs that goes above and beyond your expectations and has a client centred approach. People that do know what they are talking about and works at the best interests of their clients. Everyone is just so friendly in this place you wouldn’t even think you are in a rehabilitation centre because it feels like hanging out with family and friends at home. Scott is an absolute gem! Bery easy to approach and passionate about what he does. He shows genuine concern to his clients and always comes up with different suggestions to enhance rehab experience. He is also very friendly and such good company for everyone.

21May2026 their answer to complaints is we looked at your complaint the end. When you realize this organization is fraudulent and they do not handle complaints as per the NDIS charter for complaint handling, you will have to take them to the Quality and Standards Commission. What a joke! 20May2026 Whoever their complaints manager is they are totally unskilled and unprepared. I have submitted a complaint in writing and rather than researching analysing the emails of their staff member concerned and coming to me prepared she has come to me and wanted to put the administrative load on to me and I have a neurological condition. I told her I was going to have a medical event if she continued she would not stop she continued with the broken record technique. This will go to the NDIS Quality and Standards Commission because these guys are absolutely unbelievably bad. Avoid at all costs if you value your health. Complaints Manager's unprepared and boundary-violating conduct today. Arc: The manager initiated contact without reviewing my file and was completely unaware that Denise has resigned. She actively shifted the administrative load onto me, ignoring my corporate communications background at Qantas, and forced a verbal recount that left me totally drained. Her emotional smothering and repetitive conversational tactics violate my strict boundaries and leave the resolution completely blocked. Working with Headway ABI and Denise was a really poor experience. Denise charged over $100 an hour as a Level 2 specialist for a critical situation, but when things got hard, she just quit and walked off the job. She completely ghosted a provider while onboarding them for me, leaving them in the dark without the right details to help me. Instead of doing the work, she watered down my strict health needs and treated me like a fussy older man. Her refusal to use simple emails stopped everything in its tracks. It is like paying top dollar for a premium safety net, only for them to drop you. This agency will leave you feeling totally drained. Find a team that actually stays to do the job. If you want to be ghosted and you want your information to be misinterpreted, then use this company. For those that wish a polished professional service go elsewhere.
