Google MapsI began working with Joe (at the Penrith location) at about 9 months post partum, after being in a big black hole of sleep deprivation and depression and was just wanting to just start some Pilates to get moving again. I have never stuck to a gym in my entire adult life but wanted to give it a try as my post partum recovery both physically and mentally had been really really hard following an incredibly traumatic emergency c-section. After chatting with Joe and doing an assessment we decided that I would benefit from functional classes to gain back some strength as well as some Pilates for mobility. Joining with Joe and the team was the best choice I have ever made for myself! I have developed more strength and improved my mobility, but most importantly within a few weeks I no longer had any pain on my c-section scar, something that had been troubling me since I had my daughter. I was always encouraged and welcomed to bring my daughter along to the classes, where she would (sometimes if she wasn’t being cheeky) sit and play, and all other times she would be carried around and cared for by Joe and Matt giving me the space to do the class. I am incredibly grateful for Joe and the gym as it also has been a huge positive factor for my mental health journey, the gym became a part of my plan in my post partum PTSD plan, and thanks to the gym I have a new found confidence in my body and it’s strength opposed to seeing it as the failure I once thought it was. I would recommend Joe and the services he and his team provide to anyone and the atmosphere and support they provide is the gold star standard in health, fitness and recovery. Thank you Joe.
