Rocky Bay

Janelle, the Senior Support Coordinator at Rocky Bay does a great job of supporting NDIS participants. As an allied health professional, Janelle has linked appropriate participants to me and supports these participant really well. My experience is that Janelle provides high quality and timely support and is a great choice as a support coordinator.

Love how my children speech and occupational therapy gets done real easy. I’m not having to worry or stress and it’s close to home which is really good. The therapist do a really good job of making sure your kids goals are met.

So my daughter has funding through NDIS she has been on the waitlist forever. They did an assessment and apparently they couldnt help with her speech. Mind you NDIS paid 2 years out of my daughter's funds for them not being able to help my daughter there trying again this year to access $15,000 Total waste! It could of went on things she actually needed!

Two years ago my son used to have community access outings with Rocky Bay, he loved water so they always drove him to the beach where he would then damage the vehicle which resulted in many suspensions. I couldn’t understand and cope with his behaviour so I started looking at accommodation options and increased his medication. I’ve recently learnt why, he was never allowed out of the car. I was heartbroken to hear this, as this is abuse. I now understand why he was angry and always crying in the shower when he got home, he knew he was being mistreated but could never communicate this to me. The support worker and team leader kept this important fact from me. Learning this has been heart wrenching because I almost gave up on my son believing what Rocky Bay was telling me about my son being violent, but they were abusing my son and I was blind to it. Today we have a new service with great supports, my son has never been happier and no issues at all. I now look back at our time with Rocky Bay as an extremely sad and stressful period in our lives.

If you want to feel like you matter, don't go with Rocky Bay, otherwise you won't be heard and you will feel like just another number. Making any complaint, suggestion, or even being part of their "survey", didn't see anything change. Asked to be exited on the 18th of October 2024, turned up to my second last appointment, only to be told I had been exited weeks before. Staff won't be trained to help neurodivergent people, you'll just be told they can't help you.
