I would not recommend Marsden Therapy. We initially had a good experience with Dash but when she left and we got a new therapist, it seemed to be more about billing than about therapy. We were billed almost thrice what we had been paying before with little communication prior. I called severally for more clarifications and left messages for a week, with no response before the therapist eventually got in touch via email after I emailed her. Even at that, her response didn't quite address the points raised and did not make me feel valued as a client. We've been to therapy at other clinics where the therapists are more empathetic, communicate, and get on the phone to resolve issues when they occur. This unfortunately has not been my experience at Marsden Therapy

I was invoiced 15 minutes into my son's session. It had not ended yet. Not a good look for the centre.

DO NOT RECOMMEND This place HAD the potential to be something decent but it would need a complete overhaul for that. It unfortunately it was a complete let down and waste of time. After informing the receptionist I was going to be a private patient using private health, my son was matched up to a OT that didn’t have a provider number.. then after 4 phone calls and a 2 week wait, I still had not been provided it. I also had an appointment booked (I checked 3 times as I wasn’t confident in the centre’s ability) only to turn up at that date and time and be told I don’t have an appointment. EXTREMELY unprofessional!!

I am giving Marsden Therapy one star based on the fact that their staff appear to have the knowledge and qualifications to practice, and their customer service is fair. However, everything else was very unprofessional and below average according to my experience. I took my son to Marsden Therapy for Speech Therapy. He struggles at school and my number one request was that the therapist liaise with his teacher (even once) just to find out more about the areas he needs help with. When we had our first consultation the therapist expressed that it would be no problem and she would love to be in contact with his teacher as it would help her direct the therapy more accordingly. I could only provide limited information as I am not in the classroom with him. I expressed this more than once. In short, I asked the therapist about a month into therapy if she had been in touch with my son's teacher, she responded with a confident 'Yes'. I was relieved. However, the next morning I received a phone call from the Marsden Therapy receptionist asking for my son's school email address 'to keep on their records'. This prompted me to ask my son's teacher if the therapist had contacted her and she confirmed 'No'. I wrote an email to Marsden Therapy (sent to both the main email and the therapist) about two weeks ago and they have still not responded. They come across to be a very fee focused organisation that is just interested in volume of patients - very transactional. I was looking for a therapist to help my so work towards living more independently with time, and they seemed to take no interest. It was all about completing the 45 minute session and moving onto the next patient. I would not recommend Marsden Therapy.
