Northern Health

By far the most terrible hospital in melbourne, the “doctors” all are learning on the job, they literally have to consult actual doctors on the phone for every single case they have no clue whats going on. Go there and notice that the person taking care of you always goes back to the phones to confirm. and the nurses are disrespectful doctor wannabes with 0 etiquette or professionalism. Once i had to stay 9 hours for an eye inspection for my eye inflammation and the only reason i had to was that the night shift doctors had 0 experience with the eye and had to wait till the morning shift doctors with someone half competent to do their job. Sad hospital filled with sad people for health care professionals. I have never been here and felt taken care of.

Very disappointing experience at Northern Health Epping. My wife has been suffering from a cyst and requires surgery, yet we have been waiting for two days with no operation completed and very little clear communication about what is happening. On top of the long delay, the level of support and care from some of the nursing staff has been extremely poor. During such a stressful time, patients and their families deserve compassion, timely updates, and professional care. It is unacceptable to leave patients waiting in pain and uncertainty for this long. Northern Health Epping seriously needs to improve its patient management, communication, and overall standard of care.

I lost both my parents at this hospital so I'm scarred, I also lost my mother inlaw here. I gave birth to my daughter here 20 years ago which was a pleasant stay. Was there about a month ago and the patient care has improved so much the only downside to the Northern is that the Emergency department needs a desperate upgrade. Despite the upgrade issue Northern is a good hospital.

I've been to the Northern Health Epping & Broadmeadows Hospitals several times. Every visited I had to the Northern has always been a delightful experience! All the doctors, nurses & receptionists are very friendly & helpful. The level of efficiency & professionalism is superb. The most accommodating health service around! Thank you Northern!

The other night I had alcohol induced psychosis. I got sectioned by the police. I got taken to the Epping hospital emergency department by the ambos. They gave me an injection to get out of the psychosis. I waited 20 minutes in the emergency department. I got seen to asap. The doctor Freya was very nice and caring and helped me through the night and released me several hours later and my parents picked me up and I go back to crisis accommodation then finally I’m safe and sound at home now. I’m only giving it four stars as the Care was excellent, but because the state of the emergency department needs a new renovation it is very cluttered and doesn’t look that hygienic. It’s very outdated. Even though this is not in my catchment zone, I’m grateful for the fast help thank you so much ☺️
