Google MapsOk soo, most of my posts have been hating on The Northern Hospital and the rude and disrespectful nurses of late.. But after being transferred to Ward 18 last night, nurse Alli has been absolutely phenomenal! Her bedside manner is top notch. Her caring and charismatic attitude has really helped me today. She is cheerful and bubbly and has reassured me several times about things Ive been worried about. Iv been asking since yesterday about when my scans are and she keeps calling radiology to find out when it's happening. She helped the Dr with the 6th Henrietta (catheter) insertion last night as nurse in charge and today she is just a regular nurse but still checking in on me! It makes such a HUGE difference to my mental health. Even let the Drs know I was going outside for a walk to collect some eucalyptus branches to bring nature into my room. Thanks nurse Alli.. I appreciate you! πππ€© Carmen (Turbo) Room 1

Google MapsI am extremely disappointed with the care I received at Northern Hospital, particularly in the Emergency Department and Ward 9. I presented to the hospital with severe gallstones and gallbladder inflammation, experiencing intense pain to the point where I could barely stand, sit upright, or move independently. Despite this, many of the nurses I encountered were rude, dismissive, and spoke to me in an aggressive and unprofessional manner. In the Emergency Department, I was treated as though I was an inconvenience rather than a patient in significant distress. When I questioned the way a nurse was speaking to me, I was effectively threatened that I would be made to sit in the waiting area. Despite being heavily medicated, drowsy, and unable to sit upright comfortably, I was eventually removed from a bed space and told to sit on a chair. I was also repeatedly given medications without proper explanation. Nurses often administered injections without clearly informing me what medication was being given or obtaining meaningful consent beforehand. On one occasion, I was given a liquid medication and asked whether it was Gaviscon. I was told it was, yet shortly afterwards my mouth and lips became numb. No explanation was provided regarding what had been administered or why this reaction occurred. The lack of communication and respect was alarming. Patients have a right to understand what medications they are receiving and to be treated with dignity. My experience in Ward 9 was equally concerning. Following surgery, I used the call bell for assistance but waited approximately 30 minutes while staff appeared to be chatting and laughing nearby. When assistance finally arrived, staff struggled to operate the bed. During this time, a male patient from another cubicle entered my room to help. At no point was he asked to leave, despite me being vulnerable, recovering from surgery, and not appropriately covered. This was a serious breach of my privacy and dignity. I was also pressured to mobilise shortly after surgery while I was crying, in pain, and under the effects of significant medication. Rather than receiving reassurance and support, I felt I was being yelled at and treated without compassion. I would like to acknowledge one nurse who cared for me briefly and was kind, professional, and compassionate. Unfortunately, she was the exception rather than the rule. This experience left me feeling unsafe, unsupported, and distressed during what was already a frightening medical situation. I will be submitting a formal complaint regarding the care I received, as patients deserve respectful communication, informed consent, privacy, dignity, and appropriate postoperative support.
I had my baby here few days ago. Had the best experience ever. Thatβs my second pregnancy and delivery. Everyone from obstetrics in specialist clinics to surgeons to midwives and kitchen staff are exceptionally caring and professional. I felt supported and safe. Thank you northern hospital for my safe pregnancy and delivery π«Άπ»πΈ β¦
Been there twice, Specially admitted into ER; did not found much of the issues mentioned in reviews. Most of the staff did there job professionally. People get too emotional and sensitive when they are sick when hospitalised but medical staff perform/follow their job SOPs.

Google MapsI've been to this hospital for my husband's leukemia treatment (Rajesh Kumar). He is still under treatment, just taking my time and want to be really thankful for each and every person who has looked after my husband and involved in his treatment. Staff is really helpful when I was going through this tough time, the ICU nurses and ward 5 nurses were really supportive and helpful. Dr Jeremy, Dr Sun loo, and all doctors and staff were putting all their effort so he can get through this treatment. Heartful thanks from Rajesh's wife, they have helped one entire family. I have acknowledged all their efforts and thanks is not enough.πππ.
